Create an opportunity in Salesforce Billing to capture key sales details and initiate the billing process.

About this task

Create a new opportunity in Salesforce Billing to initiate the billing process for a customer or deal. Use the Opportunity tab to enter essential information such as the opportunity name, account, close date, and stage. After saving, you can return to the opportunity page and access the opportunity details to continue with billing configuration or further sales processes.

Steps

  1. From Salesforce Billing, go to App Launcher > Salesforce Billing app.
    The list of objects added through Customize My Tabs appears as tabs.
  2. Go to the Opportunity tab, and select New.
    The New Opportunity page appears.
  3. Enter the following and any other required details as needed:
    • Opportunity Name - Enter a unique name for the opportunity.
    • Account Name - Select the account where you’re creating the opportunity.
    • Close Date - Specify the date by which you plan to close the opportunity.
    • Stage - Select Prospecting as the initial opportunity stage.
  4. Select Save to create the opportunity.

    Return to the opportunity page and locate the opportunity to open its details page.

  5. Go to the Product section, and select Add Product.
    A list of product appears.
  6. Select the required products from the list, enter the quantity, and select Save.

    You can now add a quote to the opportunity.
